Nah, not really. What's been going on 2nd genners? Aint been around this place for awhile now... Brings be back to the good ole days with my 1997.

Still have her too. Stuck in the garage under a drop cloth and runs like a champ. Actually fired it up the other day after it had been sitting after 7 months. Turned over twice and roared into life.

Where are the legacy members, eh?

I'm not a legacy member, but I remember when you posted here in the 2nd gens. Glad to hear you still have the truck. What are you plans for the old dodge?

P.S. Your new truck looks awesome. Love the color

I haven't driven mine in a couple weeks because I finally got my car running.
Are you going to slap some shims under the bed on your truck to even it up since it's not a daily driver any more?

You should be posting on here about the motor swap into the old truck, not posting about letting it sit for 7 months...lol

And hows the new found power treating you?

Letting the old girl sit is abuse!

He just started a new job, it'll be a while before he's got the $$$ to throw it at the '97.

That isn't a lie. To be honest, I almost, almost traded the 2010 in on Saturday. I stopped by the dealer to have the tires rotated and balanced (free so why not) and I test drove a 2011 R/T Max charger.. I fell in love with the damn thing. The only thing that stopped me was the climate where I live. The winters here would keep me from getting around.

As for the 97, ya it's sitting. Can't really do much about that. I wouldn't be driving it daily or even weekly and it's costing me about $50 a year to keep it stored where as it would be around $100 a month to put it back on the road. Not to mention the horrid gas mileage I would be getting. 20MPG is pretty awesome right now for me (even if I'm looking to buy a beater car)

Anyways, for the 2nd post in the thread, eventually I'm planning on doing a full restore on the body and slipping a 73 440 under the hood. More than likely it would be a 440 block bored out to 500ci with a nice whipple or mooneyham blower sitting on top. All mated to a built 727 and a set of huge drag radials in the back. Crazy? probably. Stupid? Yes. It's just something I've not seen done with these trucks before outside of the guy with the 588 hemi that runs about 7.5 in the 1/4.

I didn't like the power steering in the 2010 charger that I drove. Now, bear in mind, it was the v-6 model..... but, there was ZERO over-center 'feel'. The car was a real drag to keep going in a straight line down the freeway. Seriously over-powered steering. I would like to think the performance models are a bit better??

LOVED the car though. Even with a six, it had an adequate amount of power, great fuel economy, and a very comfortable ride.

Eh, you're just used to that 2nd gen with slop steering. lol

Even my 2010 has hair pin steering response.

And no, I'm not bringing the 97 out until it's time to do the work on it.
