The other day a kid on my baseball team got pulled over for speeding. He gave the cop a "yellow ticket" that got him out of speeding. He told me that his neighbor who is a cop gave it to him. Then another kid said he has a badge that gets him out of speeding because his dad owns a dealership. Has anyone ever had such luck or is this bs? I have a tough time believing it.
Probrably a local police thing to give fellow officers and families a break everyonce in awhile, wish they had them down here.....but if you donate to the police department they give you a little badge to put on your plate, and its helps, also firefighter stickers and the bars
It's not a "speeding pass"...it's merely at the peace officers discretion. Here in Cali, CHP officers can purchase a "KA 4993" plate frame from the academy that basically marks you as a family member of a CHP officer. This SOMETIMES helps you get out of a certain trouble, but by no means is this a "speeding pass". Cops do give other cops, firefighters, doctors, nurse's...the list goes on...tickets. That, however starts feuds within departments so there not as prolific as us "regular folk" getting them.
This also marks you to those who hate cops, as having a cop family member so it opens you in that regards.
All I know is, here in Citrus County, FL, the cops actually give their family members little yellow slips that are basically a "speeding pass." Ofcourse I live in BFE, if it was in a metropolitan area, yeah I don't really see it happening.
