Default A/C help

Can anyone help? I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 4x4 with 318. I am having problems with the A/C. My local mechanic said Im not getting power from my on/off control inside or the computer. The mechanic said he can get the clutch to engage from jumping the relay switch under the hood. I changed the contol on the inside but nothing. I was told to just disconect my battery for about 5 minutes to reset my comuter. Did that still hot air..

Check and see if the PCM is commanding the A/C relay "on" when you have your controls set for A/C. PCM controls relay by grounding pin 85.
