Default Ignored my truck and now she's mad at me

Well work has been hectic and I left the old girl parked for two weeks. Went out this morning to show her some love and pick up some lumber, open the door and I'm hit with the worst mildew smell ever. Reach over and pass side carpet is damp, but thankfully it's not coolant so probably water from the rain a few days ago. Guess I'll have to figure out where that came in from.

Go on my 60 mile round trip drive and get out to check the trans fluid, and it looks good. However, I smell something sweet and I don't mean some cookies. Get to looking around and I notice a wonderful little trail of bright green coolant coming from pass side head gasket area at the front of the block and running right down and back and dripping on my cross-member. Oil is good so simple fix, famous last words right.

Anyway, moral of the story is don't ignore your baby or she might take a leak on you.

Make sure it isn't coming from the timing cover before you yank that head.

Parking it for 2 weeks isn't going to cause a coolant leak. So don't be so hard on your self. LOL As far as the fluid or whatever on the carpet, if the heater core is not leaking, the most likely culprit is the gasket around the third brake light.

Most definitely, I thought about that and could very well be, just hoping not since I did all that when I fixed the plenum and did the timing chain. I have been grabbing up a bunch of parts for my truck 1.7 RR, SCT, 14x3 air cleaner, trying to figure out which intake manifold to go with but haven't made up my mind. The ol' girl loves when I spend money on her. With only 94,000 miles she better behave herself in the mean time.

EDIT: just went and check and is the gasket around the third brake light. You can follow the water all the way.

That light is a very common problem.

When I had a free moment at work I cleaned the area of the coolant leak and threw in some dye, pressurized, and sure enough it's the timing cover gasket. Think I'll throw in a new water pump while I'm in there since I didn't do it when I did the timing chain.
