Wow that sucks man. Sorry to hear. Are you sure you don't want to just buy another truck and swap all the good stuff on yours to the other one? You should be able to pick one up with a blown trans or engine pretty cheap.

Really sorry to hear. Nice truck and a nice build going. I would have been absolutely livid at that lady. Had a similar situation with my old grand cherokee that i totaled because a guy decided to make an illegal turn right in front of me. I got out ready to scream at this guy and by the time i did so he was going over the median to the other side of the road to flee.

Best of luck to you with wherever you go from this. Personally, i'd still want a truck. As for a suggestion, if you want quick and good mpg, i have a 2002 grand prix gtp and it fits the bill perfectly. I get 30-33mpg highway with at worst low 20's in traffic, heated leather, bose sound, sun roof, dual climate control, power everything, steering wheel controls, pretty well loaded for a GM car from this era, great reliability with the supercharged 3.8L and ran 14.40@97 completely stock, which is comparable to V8 mustangs of similar year. Not to mention aftermarket is plentiful, and 13's can be had for almost nothing. And they can be had in 4-door, and very good trunk space if you need space. Anyway, sure there are many other good choices, but this car has fit that bill perfectly for me. GTP could definitely be a good consideration here.

I agree lol, She slammed her breaks late and you locked up. She caused it in my opinion. I would've rather park in her backseat and cause her some trouble as well instead of having just trouble myself because of her.

As for the various parts.... since you didn't have collision (or would that be comp?) on your truck.... I would just have it towed home, and start looking for another second gen to transfer stuff to. You won't ever get back what you have invested...... so, might just as well make the most of it.

Around here, if you hit someone behind the front doors, it is automatically your fault. Doesn't matter if they pulled out in front of you, and stopped, or, simply stopped suddenly......

I had a lady in here celebrity pull out in front of me once..... She didn't notice I was changing lanes, and out she came. I peeled her drivers door open like a friggin banana. She claimed I turned into her, I told the cop I was just changing lanes, and had signaled as such. (which I had...) She got the ticket for failure to yield, but ONLY because the initial impact point on her car was.... the front door, had I hit her six inches further back, woulda been my fault.
