He'll need to use the Gov body and solenoid bracket out of the 03 as well. The pressure switch is different and mount's differently.

The extra 2 wires on the 5 wire neutral safety switch is for the digital PDNL indicator if you want to know what gear your in. This is for a 03 Dak.

Hey guys! Hope all is well on the domestic end of forums!

well finally sold the 408 for $3000. Not exactly what I wanted, but hey its money I already spent

Ive been putting most of my time and money into my new 1.8 turbo Jetta

So far I've done: APR Stage II ECU Upgrade @ 22psi (Euro SCT ), Forge 007 DV (Euro blow off), 3" Down pipe + 2.5" Cat back, Neuspeed CAI, Front mount intercooler, 2.0TFSI igntion coils, Denso IK22 Iridium plugs @ .040", ECS Stage II clutch w/ lightweight flywheel, Snow Performance MAF actuated water/ meth injection.

For displacement that amounts to less than a two liter bottle of pop, I'd say she moves pretty well

The VW forums suck! I miss you guys!

Maybe you guys could use your diverse engine knowledge to have a look at a problem that I've been having that I cant seem to get an answer to

Does the engine sound normal? The whirring noise is what Im talking about. It only happens on relatively cold starts. After I drive for a few minutes the noise subsides.

Haha sorry buddy.

Some dummy with like 10 posts on one of the vw forums said it sounds like bad bearings. Wouldn't that cause a knock though? It doesn't sound like anything internal to me... It's tough to pinpoint these noises! I'll check the pulleys though

+1. They're around $5 from Harbor Freight. It sounds more like something rubbing like Heyyou said. Maybe try taking the belt off and spin everything by hand and see if you get any noise. Fan blades hitting anything? 99% sure it's not the bearings in the engine though lol
