Well had a blast out in the mud. The locker worked amazing. I didn't even notice it was there. Went around lots of turns and never felt any feed back through the wheel that is was trying to pull it straight.

Me and my passenger were sticking our heads out the window just to make sure it was working, lol

Permanently locked CAD and an Aussie locker on a street driven truck, sounds like a good way to snap a front u-joint and wear out the front tires. I'm not trying to knock what you're doing, I'm just saying that I wouldn't take the chance with my truck sitting on a Dana 44 instead of a Dana 60.

Yep I know what your saying. I upgraded to spicer joints a while back so they should hold for a while. In the future I would like to do a D60 swap. At the moment the trucks more of a weekend warrior than DD at least until it starts snowing.

If I were you I would be looking into a Posi-Lok since the website says it's good for the D44 and the D60 so the grip from the tires won't be fighting the Aussie Locker when you turn. I have read where the Aussie is a tough SOB but I've also read where guys that have them disengage the 4x4 (easier to just disengage the right wheel with the Posi-Lok) when they have to make tight turns on trails while sitting still so they don't snap u-joints. Just remember that if you hear an unusual pop come from the front end, stop immediately because if that pop is a u-joint it can destroy the axle shafts if you continue to go. If it doesn't chew up the yokes then you can swap the u-joint on the trail and keep on getting it as long as you have the right tools with you.

In case you don't have the web site -> http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/app_dodge.html

Yep I've seen it before. It is a good idea but it costs almost as much as the locker I put in. Well hopefully I'm lucky and nothing breaks with the current setup.

I'm going to put my locker in this weekend along with axle seals.

edit: does anyone know if the pin in the carrier is hardened?

did you have to take the ring gear off the carrier to put your locker in?

The locker will not lock without power applied to it (4wd). It won't break anything.

Yes I did. Had to pull the whole carrier out of the truck and take the ring gear off to remove the cross pin.

Article that helped me out: http://www.pavementsucks.com/tech-article-26.html

The other option I saw on a youtube vid was grind down part of the ring gear tooth to slide the cross pin out. I decided not to do this, lol.
