Wrong Place at the Wrong Time

It's a good thing we took the truck too. I had wanted to take the wife's Buick Century to save my gas (I'm stingy) if we had and had been in that wreck it would have easily totaled that poor car.
That car was nearly totaled before by hitting at deer at 45mph.
The donkey's insurance company will be out tomorrow morning to inspect the truck. Let's hope for the best. Been looking on Craigslist in case they don't wanna fix it.
Could just buy the '04 Hemi from my bro in law and fix it up.

Don't hope for the best. Expect to FIGHT for the value of your humdinger! You probably know, however, the first offer or even the 3rd offer is never close to "substantiated" market value. So get those receipts, vehicle comparisons, blah blah compiled. Low ball is their game.

I am a former autobody man, and I can say looking at those pics what you have is not as bad as it seems. There is an order on what to check. Get the hood up & do X measurements - if you don't know what those are, find all the bolts that hold on both fenders, which are fixed points then have someone hold the tape measure at the farthest rear left fender bolt, while you hold the other end at the farthest forward right fender bolt, then measure the opposite way & if the measurements are the same, it shows you will not need any frame stretching. If you do, you can still save $$$ but taking it into a frame shop likely $200 or less, then you just replace the icky panels. The outbend in the door is best handled with the fender off, it maybe can be clamped then the hammer on the clamp inward, or put a 2x4 scrap behind it & pound it back in, then if you get it close you can use a bit of zgrip filler then paint handles the rest. Never use bondo brand filler - it never dries all the way through. Use a poly or glass based filler, zgrip is great quality cheap stuff that dries in about 15 minutes in normal dry above freezing weather. You can PM me if you have more detailed questions, I am happy to share any of my expertise. Remember, if you don't smile on purpose, you will fart by accident.
