Are the hoods on these Ram's interchangeable? I'm in the market for a new hood now (unfortunately not accident related) and I'm wondering if the junkyard has say a 1997 hood but not a 2001 or something in that general time period if it'll fit?

i might be mistaking but i think that any ram 1500 hood from 94-01 should be the same. so it should be able to interchange but i'm not 100% sure on that.

 

I believe all hoods are the same for 2nd gens. Whether it be 15-25-or 3500. '94-'01 on 1500 and '94-'02 25-3500.

The sport hoods for 99-01 are slightly different where the grille meets the hood. The mounting holes for the grille are different as well. I believe all non-sport hoods and early sport hoods are the same.

 

All the hoods are the same since only the grille is different.

 

It's not true. 99-01 sport hoods are slightly different due to the way the grill bolts to the hood. I have a 99-01 sport grill on my 96 and it takes some modifications to make the grill fit the hood properly.

I would not have thought Dodge would have changed something like that.

 

Found a white hood with black grille at the JY for $150, haven't seen it myself, supposed to be in good shape.

Gotta go check it out.
