I don't like the big bumpers I've seen on DF, but I have to say, that one is pretty darn nice looking.

Thanks Zman ....a lot of thought went into it before just welding pieces to some mounts . The mounts were the last thing added to it . Got a matching rear in production now , I believe i already have my unrusted rear bumper sold !

Well , got some work done on the old truck . Lot more rust than originally thought , but it's coming along . Should be ready for Paint by the end of the week . Took lots of pictures and put them into a video clip to make them easier to post .

WOW! Looks like you are doing a great job on it.

Makes me feel a lot better about mine. I have a lot of dings and dents and have to weld in new panels behind the rear wheels, but don't have the rust issue that you have on yours. That makes me feel better about the work I am doing!

Can't wait to see the finished project!

Well my front fenders were not worth fixing , so I bought brand new ones . The Final pictures in the video are them drying in the sun after they were welded to the inner fenders /primed and sprayed inside with liner . The more sanding that was done the more rust that was found . Gonna put new rockers on it next , then remount the fenders and get it ready for paint . I will post up more pics in the next couple of weeks .

Back on the off topic of the bumper, why didn't you build it with an enclosed winch mount, when it's obviously PLENTY big to hold one?

I thought about it , but I want to be able to move the winch to the back of the truck if the need be . The front hitch allows me to do this easily . Although the bumper is large , it is no heavier than the stock bumper and would crumple similar to the stock bumper in an accident . I don't want to bend the frame if it can be prevented in an accident . Hope this clears things up .
