Default Truck decided to take a break(tranny toast)

after 183k long miles my truck said it was time to take a break......So its sitting in the tranny shop getting some minor surgery. When its all said and done I will be a poor man with a happy truck. Its about time and I will be waiting for a call from the doctor to go pick it up sometime later this week.

Lost 3rd on the way home and then lost it completely and had to get a tow to the tranny shop.

Getting it done locally and having them install my transgo jr. shift kit that has been in my room for the past 2 years

Been waiting on it to blow for last 3 years and so happy it finally did, once it comes back it will be on the road for a couple weeks before it goes under the knife again so I can install my gear set. then it will be ready for whatever I feel like.

yep its about 80k longer than it was supposed to last from the factory, Ive had the money set aside for awhile so it was no surprise.

But of coarse my brothers truck also has a busted tranny and blown rearend so we get to share the spare truck.

It looks as if mine died at 150k as well.... I'm attempting my last ditch effort today by adjusting the bands. but I'm not very optimistic at this point...
How much to get your rebuilt if you dont mind me asking?
I've found them rebuilt with shiftkits installed and heavy duty clutches for $1,200 with shipping but I'm not too keen on installing it myself. Plus I'd rather have a local shop rebuild MINE if its not too much more.

lol my ram decided it didn't like its transmission at 125k.... maybe my new tranny will make it another 4 years and then i can sell it and buy a 2011 when the price is cheaper on them

Its gonna cost me $1700 with the shift kit I supplied, not the cheapest place around but one I trusted and it comes with a 1 year, 12k warranty. I should never have to touch it again. Should be done tomarrow and I cant wait to have my truck back.

Straight quote from the tranny guy...."the tranny is worn the hell out"

Got it back yesterday and feels like new again nice firm shifts but not slam your head back in the seat, goes all the way up to 5400 and pops into the next gear without hesitation when on the throttle all the way
