Default Winter Fronts

Anyone here ever run winter fronts on their trucks? I'm goin to school in South Dakota and I see alot of trucks here running around with them, gas and diesel. With it being -17 this morning, wonderin if it'd help anything.

Winter fronts are pretty much required for diesels when it gets bitter cold, but for gassers you have to be more careful to watch the temperature gauge so you don't overheat the engine. What you'll get when it's really cold out is improved fuel economy, better cab heat, and a happier automatic transmission.

I have some grill inserts made by Lund. I only use them when it gets extremely cold (below 0). It helps the truck warm up a bit quicker for sure.

** Added - You know, its funny on the mobile site, you cannot tell what forum you are in (2nd gen, 3rd gen, etc)... which is why I seem to have strayed into your territory..

Anyhow, ya.. -28C on the OHC on the truck... thank God for remote start.
