Rugged/Manly Cell Phones
My ex-wife has her work phone through Verizon and uses that as her primary phone because (as she says) she can pick up a signal where AT&T can't and the reception is much better.
I'm going to talk with a local Verizon store and see if I can find a comparable plan to what I have now, which looks like I can. Verizon looks to have a cheaper plan as well, so if that's the case then I'll get a Casio G'zone Brigade.

I miss having verizon service...
they really do have one of the best networks for coverage and signal.
I would get signal on verizon in places no other carrier would.
I currently have sprint and the coverage is hit and miss. sometimes hit, mostly miss lol.
coverage sucks with sprint. but their plans are a lot cheaper...only reason I went with them. you get unlimited data, text, cell to cell calling, free night/weekends to land lines, no roaming/long distance. 1500 anytime minutes to land lines (I say land lines because cell to cell calling regardless of carrier is free/unlimited)

You will also not find better coverage than Verizon. We've been with them for about 10 years, they may have some weird charges here and there you may not agree with, but you will find that with all carriers.
I hate GayT&T. But that's cuz I used to build cell sites for a living. They are a bunch of ******. Their network is improving, but not great. Verizon has a good coverage map but they are running by far the oldest technologies at the moment. Sprint is building the best/fastest tech into their sites currently, with T-Mobile nipping at their heels. I use T-Mobile and get coverage most anywhere I go.
The Verizon plan costs about $10/month more than my AT&T plan. AT&T's coverage and connectivity (IMHO) improved in my area, and then has been degrading. Once a tower was placed near my house reception and connectivity were outstanding on my Nokia 5100, yet with the Nokia C3 I either have issues with people not able to hear me (thus requiring that I move around) or text messages requiring multiple attempts to be sent. Then again, those issues could be related to the phone.
I don't recall checking into Sprint, but I do know that US Cellular usually receives top marks.

I have U.S. Cellular service and normally have no complaints what so ever. However, U.S. Cellular recently caved to all the iPhone lovers out there and have started selling Apple products, which required a overhaul of their billing system, which delayed bills and still causes some issues with the online account.
A recent failed 911 call, thankfully the medics weren't needed after all, not sure what's up with that.
One thing to consider, my sister had U.S. Cellular, moved to Fairfax, Va and the service is weird, texts are received hours, sometimes a day or so after the sender sent it, phone calls are spotty at times too, she recently switched to a different carrier, not sure which one.

US Cellular and Spring both appear to have spotty/questionable coverage out in the Virginia area. Verizon's appears to be much stronger than AT&T's, which is another reason to make the jump.
WHEW ! ...NOW....I'm completewly confused ! (not a typo)

I purchased a Casio G'Zone Brigade and switched to Verizon. The phone is built like a tank, moisture resistant, and works well -- EXCEPT INSIDE MY HOUSE.
Tested the phone from town all the way to my house, and it never dropped the signal one time, whereas AT&T would lose the call in several spots along the same route. However, once I'm in the house it's like when I had my (so-called) smart phone -- I barely move my head and the person at the other end can't hear me, the signal cuts out, or I'm told I sound like I'm at the end of a hallway.
Screw this crap. I'm going back to AT&T and will get a bare basic phone that makes phone calls only. No texting bullshat.
