on my third tank of the stuff as of tonight. i saw a 1 mpg decrease the first tank, and another almost full mpg decrese on the 2nd tank. hopefully this third tank i see something better. filled her up with irving's 93 octane. im thinking the winter blended gas is also taking a toll on the milage.

Gotta admit, I've been chasing my poor fuel mileage for awhile......and decided what have I got to lose. Have been averaging 10-11 city for the last 6-8 months.....plenum fix/o2 senors replaced/cat flow checked/all other sensors to specs/major tune up.......nothing helped for over a month.......
First tank of startron I used the normal dose, didn't want to shock the system(I'm usually over cautious) Truck ran OK....didn't notice anything.
Second tank...Doubled the dose.....nothing noticeable the first half of tank.....still getting 11 city.....then BAM!!! the next day driving the same route as always....I was a good 1-1.5 mpg's better.....a few days later.....2-2.5 mpg's better......hoping to get back to my 14-15 city when all said and done.
I'm using my Scangage II to monitor my mpg's....as I have always done.

I'm not quite seeing the 2-2.5 MPG I was seeing from Sept - Nov, it's more like 1-1.5 MPG now and I'm gonna blame winter blended gas. Both my vehicles still idle and run noticeably smoother though.
I've been compiling data from others as well and it seems the best results so far is with the old GM 350 V8. I've got two friends with late '90s Chevy Z71s who are claiming close to 4 MPG better and swear the engine is smooth as silk compared to before. That's why I'm kinda interested in you guys with the 318s and 360s as I have a theory that the older (and made with less ethanol friendly components) engines respond to the StarTron better...

yeah.....it's been just over a year or so since the last of our local(w/in a 25 mile radius)gas stations have offered non-ethanol gas......I have always preferred it due to mpg's......Gonna keep on eye on the plugs and read what they say..
I know my boat will be seeing startron this summer('86 Wellcraft Nova XL w/a 350)
