Well I'm in Florida a lot, probably about 2/3 of the time anymore caring for my mom and there was two places fairly close. The one independent who was about 2 miles away sold and became a Kangaroo station and went to all ethanol. The other independent still has it, but is about 14 miles away and to make it even more inconvenient, doesn't take credit (or debit) cards. It's just a royal PIA with the price of gas to have to hit an ATM or think to have $60+ in cash on me when the tank is getting low.

In rural south Georgia, you'd think I would be able to find a small independent with non-ethanol, but I can't. The national database doesn't even show one within 45 miles of my place up there.

So, as long as I'm seeing similar results running E10 + Star Tron, I'll continue to run it unless I just happen upon a place with ethanol free stuff.

I'd love to get to just 15 mpg. My vw gets 15 and I felt on top of the world, I'd love to get my truck that high lol

My old 2nd Gen never got it or even close. I Don't even remember what it got at stock height on stock tires. I had to have my dealer do a swap for it at the time (Jan. '98) and I actually had the body lift in the garage waiting on the call to come get the truck. I don't think I ever finished the first tank at stock height. But I never saw more than about 12 1/2. Now the 3rd Gen gets about 13 around town and I've nipped 17 on trips, but 16 is more the norm - also running 35s...

On my way to Tifton from Waycross on 82 in Georgia I saw a gas station that offer's ethanol free gasoline.

Might have to try it.

If it's on the Waycross side of Pearson see if you can get the address or GPS coordinates, I take 82 to Pearson and then jump on 441 north on my way up to the farm...

If you are gonna do the Star Tron thing and are up near Douglas, the Lowes there doesn't carry it (which is odd because ALL the Lowes I've been to down here in Florida has it). Wally World has it, Tractor Supply has it and the just about all the marine repair shops carry it. Hell, there is a small mom/pop bait shop run out of someone's two car garage behind their house in town and they even have it, but they are high...

on my jetskii's, which ran 1430cc 4 stroke, I can nail 75mph with ethanol free, and get to it in a hurry.. on 10%, was lucky to see 65~67mph or so.. they also ran a bit hotter on ethanol.. you really don't want to leave that stuff in them over the winter.. the recreational gas was about 15~20 cents more per gallon though, which I thought was worth it in both function and extra distance per tank..

I'll be back that way this Friday, I'll get an address or something for ya! But I'm thinking it's in either Willacoochee or Alapaha, but I'll find out, it's such a long ride from Waycross to Tifton it all blurs together!

I used to take 441 south from Douglas to Pearson then to Waycross, just going by TomTom, quit doing that, take 158 to 82, just outside of Wayrcross.

My local Wally World sell's the concentrated bottle for $10 of Star Tron.

Florida gas stations have to sell gas with up to 10%, the only way to get around it is to call it Recreational gas or if you are a marine gas station.

It makes a hell of a difference in the boat, ATC's and my dads harley. I go to a local gas station about 5 miles away to fill up the gas cans for the house, but its about 20 cents more than premium

The guy I sold my stock wheels and tires to has a 2nd gen ram he uses and also has a 3rd Gen Hemi TRX 4x4, we were talking about gas mileage and power, he said the Hemi is great compared to the Magnum but he could drive to Atlanta and back (from Tifton) and do better on gas then he could drive across town with the Hemi.

I'm sure he was exaggerating a little.

I think a good rule of thumb when I compare my old 5.9 Magnum to my current 5.7 Hemi is figure the Hemi gets about 25% better fuel economy. The 100 added ponies you can sure feel too, but really not until you start to get up to about 2200 rpm or so. Down low in the RPM band the torque is pretty close between the two. So for a hauler/tow vehicle, aside from a pretty nice MPG advantage, I don't see much of a difference with the Hemi...
