Christmas has come and gone what did you do? I am looking at possibly digging into my exhaust myself and waiting to see what you can do on your own in the driveway.

Currently exhaust is strait from the factory including the O2 sensor that just threw a code and got me thinking about exhaust.

They don't sound like a glasspack at all, they have a chambered tone. Magnaflows are much closer to glasspacks since they're basically the same design just with a bigger case and more packing material. I've known a couple people with 18" Magnaflows on Magnums and I don't care for the sound.

The XL series of Aero Turbines have a built in resonator and are smooth sounding while still retaining that aggressive sound. The only other mufflers I really like are Hooker Aerochambers.

I want to just run a 3" pipe from the Y to where it heads over the axle, therefore having a full 3" system, but I'm worried it will be too loud with just an Aero 3030XL, and no cat. Also worried about doing this myself as I can't weld and would have to do this all by hand. (Hacksaw)

How do you plan to attach the new O2 bungs to your pipe without welding?
Also, does anyone know if deleting the cat changes the odor of the exhaust? When I did my exhaust, I pulled my precat O2 to test if my cat was bad and it really smelled bad like those old trucks you get behind sometimes.

I have a friend that could I could get to weld an O2 bung on it. Just mostly worried about it being too loud. Maybe I will look at an 2525XL and just replace my muffler and leave the cat.....

to put the cat/ no cat sound to rest....

In Germany (about to use the "C" word) I had a '95 Chevy Z28 with six speed. Buddy of mine had a 96 z28 auto. we both had the 3in Flowmaster exhaust cat-back. He had a cat however, I didnot. e went through inspection at the same time. 98 decibels is the legal limit in germany. They place the tool about 8-10 in away from the tailpipes and rev to 2000rpm in neutral.
He got 99.7. Failed.
I got 118.3. MEGA Failed.
Definite difference.

On another note, where can i get these aerochamber mufflers everyone's talking about?

Why remove the cat if you're worried about it being too loud?

To give myself a full 3"system. Figured it would be better for the motor. Am I mistaken in thinking that?

I'm not sure how to quote 2 messages in one so sorry for the double post.
But you can find them on Ebay or if you google 'aero turbine' there are several other places out there as well.
