I have always been told the dana 60 was superior / stronger to the Chrysler 9.25 rear end in the 1500 series? after burning through 3 of them dont you think there may be something your doing wrong? Or maybe if its 4wd you have different gearing in your front axle than you do in the rear? I dont know but that seems like theres something else going on there

Bought mine in 2007 with 32,500 miles and today just turned 62,000....

I should have another 5 or 6 years before I'm knocking on 100,000....

I have other transportation (97 Honda Accord 4cyl-5speed ) I use on a regular basis so truck is more for fun then need, but both are paid off so why sale either....

Yeah i got my truck as a DD but after the lift and all that i quickly found a another mazda to use as my DD. 30 mpg's and i paid 400 bucks for it. Paid for itself within 2 months. My family has a list of 2nd gens lol. A 94, 95, 96, and two 97's. The oldest oddly has the lowest mileage, around 107k or so and actually runs the worst. The PO let it sit for over a year so its got its bugs. The 95 was my stepdads w/t and i think its got well over 420k. Its had 3 rearends, mainly because its a 1/2 ton that was used like it was a 1 ton, 1 transmission at 215k, countless water pumps and 2 alternators. Its never had the plenum done and it hardly burns oil and runs like a champ. The 96 is my gpas and is the most babied of them. Its got 120k on it and still looks brand new from front to back. I put a plenum fix on it a while back just to be on the safe side, other than that no problems as of yet. My 97 thats at 204k andhas had more money sunk in it than I personally would like to add but probally more than 90% of the truck is new. Like rebuilt new not j/y new, but im ocd like that and i will never part with my truck. The other 97 is also my step dads with around 225k on it and i put a motor in it due to a blown headgasket and found a hell of a deal on one. All in all the 2nd gen ram is my personal favorite of trucks, especially of its era.

yeah the 2nd gen is my favorite. i love the looks i just wish they made a crew cab.. so that why i got my eyes on a chevy for my next rig.. but i been thinking and i'll never sell my dodge i have had it since i was 17. and i'm 20 now.. i want to one day pass it on to my son(when i have one! no kids yet please) i have so many memories with my dodge that if i sold it i would lose part of me.

before i pass the truck on to my son(or daughter) its gonna have be rolling with a 408 and a 5 speed lol
