Default Rpm shifting

Alot of guys have tranny issues or have had tranny issues so I fugured id start a thread on what Rpms ur truck normaly shift at. I know it depends on how hard you press on the gas but average pressure and average Rpm's........ My truck shifts about 2800 rpm's wgat about yours?

My driving style is usually pretty relaxed..... so, 2nd and 3rd come in around 2400 or so. Fourth at around 2600, and then it drops down to like 1500 at 50 mph or so.

I'm guessing the weight of the truck and gearing / tire size as well as engine / HP will also have a large effect on shift rpm's..as well as fluid pressure.. from My reading experience as well as personal the shifts tend to be sluggish and late when the governor pressure solenoid screen starts to plug up with debris. I wish I paid more attention to my previous rpm levels to compare any changes to how it shifts once I get it back from the rebuild.

Mine on easy driving shifts around 2k and when on the weekends and having fun 2500. Full throttle goes all the way just like it should

When the engine is cold I let it shift at 1500-1600. Once it's fully warmed up driving normal usually shifts about 2200. Since the pipes are pretty loud I usually keep it under 2400 rpm- they get really loud and hammer beautifully over 2400 lol

Thats ironic because ford engineers think the other way, they actually raise the shiftpoints to higher rpms when the engine is under a certain temperature to aid in warming it up quicker and preventing wear from poor lubrication at freezing temps...

Low fluid pressure would that be just tranny pressure or oil pressure too? If oil pressure too lets say im driving with a dad oil pan seal and a possibly a bad rear seal would that cause low pressure for the oil? Id imagine it would because if oil getting that air/pressure would as well?

transmission fluid... my understanding is a lot is controlled by fluid pressure on an automatic..

Is there something besides cleaning my governer that would increase fluid pressure?

I guess making sure the fluid insnt contaminated or burnt which would lead to buildup in the passages of things like the vavle body that would restrict flow... some will argue that fluiding the fluid with a power flush will dislodge inert particles and cause them to plug things up or cause wear.... and they may be right in some cases...
