Default Should I remove body kit to repair???

Hey..

As you can see from my pic below I have a body kit that was installed when new.. The clear coat is coming off in several places on the passenger side (driver side still great) and wonder if I should repair (if at all) on or off the truck.. Any one here remove the kit and what problems to look for if any? The clear coat problem is just the kit not the body..

Do you think I should just pull both sides off and go without.. what about under it, think it's in bad shape

If you think the metal under the kit is in bad shape, then you should pull it off, and fix what's under it, before it simply falls off.... See what the truck looks like without out, and decide from there if you want to put it back on.

Repairing it off the truck would be a trivial matter, wet sand, then clear coat. Yer done. Getting it OFF the truck may not be a trivial matter though.

Best thing for durability would be to remove it, sand until all loose edges are removed, and repaint. To make it look the way it "should" you'll end up sanding through the color just to feather out the clear and to get far enough into the clear to where it sticks. So you'd have to color match it, which will be the hardest part.

You could remove them, sand them down and spray paint them black.

Hard to remove is what I'm most concerned with too.. I can easily get to all the screws, but are these glued on to or just bolted.. I'm going to do a test pull on the rear section and if not glued will prolly pull the whole thing and get estametes on repair of it and the trunk bed bars which I already removed last year due to the same thing.. Will post more pics too..

And you thought right... Just screws no tape or glue.. Their was tape on the taillight cover but that was it and it is getting fixed too so just a few swipes with some fishing line and it came off undamaged too.. Had it all off in 30 mins..

Here is the good side..............
