Lucked out on a HP Dana 60 front
I know that it is a completely different Dana 44, but my 19 spline under my '72 has held up to my 39's without ever giving me trouble.
EDIT: this post is backing up what Wh1t3NuKle said... not a misunderstood disagreement.

You got the infamous 19 spline!! *bows*
I didn't interpret you as disagreeing either. Point is to understand your hardware and how you use it. In the end..... "SHE" will know...in addition to your bank account. lol

like this?

Indeed the unit bearings can handle some stuff. Driving habits and conditions most likely will dictate their demise. People say that you can't rund 37s on a dana 44...newman says...
I've got to start devising my ORE axle sale now. It should be a good package deal for both axles to include the ORE lift with it, steering, and the shocks even. Cost in 4.10 gears and install is quite sizeable. Someone getting these would be way ahead of the game. A non-ORE ram would then be a "sleeper" ram. lol

are 19 splines known for being lame or something?
Same diameter shafts, the higher the spline count, the stonger the shaft is. This pic will help (30 spline vs. 19 spline)

I know that... I've run a lap or two around the 4x4 world
He referred to it as "Infamous" and considering there were 12 spline versions available in some jeeps I figured he was referring to something specific to mine.

You're just in the "infamous" crowd running those spline shafts. They are not that plentiful, right? So meaning unique, rare, and even more so pushing 39" meats unscathed == drive like a ninny.
hahahahahaha
In looking at axles I just hadn't come across very many 19 spline axle shafts.

) wheel it pretty hard.
