It came out of an '01. I probably would have bought an older one sooner, had it not been for the members here. It even has 4.10 gears, but will get swapped for some 5.13's. Still not sure how I'm gonna hide it from the misses though.

Yeah a Dodge 2500. I'm no good at guessing weight, but it has to be around the 300 pound mark. It was a craigslist find from southern Indiana ($275) Now waiting on a disc brake rear.

Awesome price!! You must not really have much issue with the unit bearing?

Pics later, but I finally made it to pick and pull and got my ford 8 lug spindles, rotors, and manual locking hubs. From a 92 F-250 4x4. Geez, the pick n pulls system on "what" vehicles they have is so wrong. The Ram's were sitting in the Premium section.... Weren't much to look at anyways.

The local yard I usually visit always has about 2 or 3 rams that nobody is allowed to touch!!! I've had my eyes on some 2500 axles for a few weeks... one day ill be able to get ahold of them and it will be glorious

At 95,000 miles (the last 30,000 w/ 37"+ tires) it has the original unit bearings on the 44 without any problems. So I'll run them in the 60 until one craps out, and then maybe switch over to locking hubs, time will tell.

One of the local JY's here has a Red Ram Sport 4x4, appears to be lifted, there is no visible damage, you can see they have some boxes in the cab, I've wanted to stop and ask what's up with it so many times, but never can pull the trigger. You gotta wonder how many Ram's are sitting in the JY just because of a blown tranny......

Indeed the unit bearings can handle some stuff. Driving habits and conditions most likely will dictate their demise. People say that you can't rund 37s on a dana 44...newman says...

I've got to start devising my ORE axle sale now. It should be a good package deal for both axles to include the ORE lift with it, steering, and the shocks even. Cost in 4.10 gears and install is quite sizeable. Someone getting these would be way ahead of the game. A non-ORE ram would then be a "sleeper" ram. lol
