Default Ford v10 possibly!

Grandpa has a 2000 ford F350 v10 club cab(ext cab? same as out ext cab 98.5 and up).. Anyway truck has 109,000miles on it and is in GREAT shape. Its a Long box single wheel auto. I know next to nothing about these trucks(this one is FULLY loaded btw). Might be getting it(price isnt a factor here). Good truck? Would it be worth giving mine up for? I know it gets about the same mpg ALL the time(towing or not it seems to get 10.5-12) Its 4wd lifted 3in and has a 12k winch. What do you guys think?

Pictures or it didn't happen!

Don't know much about the 2k Fords. We had a '97 F250 Gas 4x4, it was a great truck, only thing we had to do besides regular maintenance was wheel bearings.

I say go for it!

Will try and get some pics. I really like the truck... No worries though guys, might be able to keep the 2nd gen and get this truck! (would build the 2nd gen in to a trail truck)

Crappy gas mileage. Aluminum cylinder heads that like to toss spark plugs. 500 dollar tune ups.....

Friend of mine had one, and I had the misfortune to work on a few. It shouldn't take a mechanic all frickin' DAY to change spark plugs... but, it does.....

Now you talkin' like Hammer! Crappy gas mileage can't be much worse then the Dodge V10's.

Welp, I think it's silly to expect "good" mileage out of any V10, but that's just my opinion.

Crap, I'm only averaging 12.5 outta my truck now, granted it has beefy all terrain tires and needs either a new cat, gutted cat, or no cat, and new O2 sensor's.

Wait...Are you confusing the 5.4 and the V10? I've never heard anything bad about the V10s, just the 5.4. My boss (mechanic for 30 years) wont touch the spark plugs in a 5.4. That is the only work he will absolutley not do.

Maybe it was just luck but we didn't have any issues with the 5.4L Triton.

My father in law had a '02 with the 5.4L and never had any issues with it either.

from what i have read the v10 is no better than any of the other ford engines that shoot sparkplugs when they need to be changed
