Of course like anything else, they'll probably come out with a finding at some point where something in it will kill you at some point, but I'm sure it's a lot better than tobacco. It does take some getting used to and I find it breaks down a lot faster than tobacco does, meaning you use a good bit more of it.
On the plus side is that you don't need to spit and can just swallow the juice. I don't spit much with regular dip either, which is why I switched from leaf tobacco over 20 years ago. But when I'm done with this stuff, I just swallow what's left in my mouth - never could do that with real snuff - although I know plenty of good 'ol boys who do.
Other plus side is that it's exempt from tobacco tax so it's dirt cheap (at least around here) compared to tobacco. In Florida I was paying $5.85 a can for long cut Cope and even the cheap stuff like Grizzly is $3.50 a can. This stuff is anywhere from $1.49 to $1.89 a can depending on where I get it.
I'll have to check when I go up to the farm in Georgia next month. I can get a roll of Copenhagen for $9.95 there, am hoping I can find the tobacco free stuff even cheaper than the buck and a half a can I'm paying here...
Jeez $6 a tin?! Round here I pay $14 a tin!! Gotta love Canadian taxes

Still the same. It's getting where cigarette smoke kind of stings my nose if I get into a lot of it. By sting I mean like smoke off a camp fire will if you breath it directly in.

Same as before. I'm still using the electronic and don't want tobacco. The electronic is actually sitting on my lap right now. It's almost been 6 months now.

A guy at work had a heart attack a week or so ago and ended up getting 7 stints put in his heart. I think he said that two arteries were completely clogged. His doctor told him that he had to quit smoking and that he should try electronic cigarettes.
He listened but he got the worst kind you can get, it's one of those gas station deals. They have bad flavor, low vapor production and short battery life.

Talking Cigarettes

I have good news and bad news. I started smoking non-filter Pall Malls at age 13. That's what my Mom smoked. I quit when I was 38. The good news is I managed to stay off them all this time. Not one relapse. The bad news is you never lose the desire to smoke. Both my father and father-in-law said if they were ever diagnosed terminal, the first thing they would do would be to go buy cigarettes. I know what they mean. As long as you keep the desire not to smoke higher than the desire to smoke, you'll be ok.

^^that is correct sir. I could easily pick up and start again at any time About 2 years ago, during my yearly physical, my Dr. gave me a choice: lose weight and get in shape or go on mediciation for high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. I decided I'd rather try to get in shape so I started walking, gradually getting into running until lo and behold, I was running 4-5 miles at a time. I run about 4-5 miles a night sometimes 6 nights a week. I run in 5k's at least once a month, usually twice. I am still in awe that I went from smoking sometimes 2 packs a day and being almost 100 lbs overweight with pre hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol to running a 5k in under 30 minutes (not superfast, I know, but still good for my age) in a years time. I have attempted 6 miles (10k) but I reach the physical limitations of my knees at about 5.5 miles. I'm still overweight but I am managing it and not smoking. My desire to run is greater than my desire to smoke.

27,564.5 hours now.
I still use the electronic cigarettes now but not for long. Obamacare finally forced my work to revamp the health insurance and the new policy has a smoker fee of $23 a paycheck. The word they use to screw over ecig users is nicotine user and not just smoker. They will also send you to the doctor for a blood test if they see you using a nicotine product and fire you if you checked off non-nicotine user on that form and the blood test shows that you have nicotine in your system.
So the thing that made it so I could quit smoking is going to cost me as much on my health insurance as if I were still smoking.
If the policies on healthcare.gov were actually affordable then I would go that route and not use the insurance through my work.
