Last night I got the intake, timing case, water pump, and balancer/pully back on.

Looking good, if I were you, I'd do something with the T Stat housing. Or replace with new. And adding these would make it even prettier.

New thermostat went in 500 miles ago... housing is in good shape too...

With all the $$$ being dropped on this thing in the last 2 weeks, I had to draw a line somewhere. That line was: No performance upgrades. As much as I wanted to, I am only fixing it in this round. Plus, I don't really want to do that stuff to this motor, since I have no idea how many miles it has on it. Someday it will get a fresh built (by me) magnum in it.

I did spend some time inspecting the heads yesterday, and couldn't find any cracks.

It's raining to the point of flooding today so no tranny install.

I'm talking about the rust on the bottom of the T-Stat housing. At least wire brush and give it a coat of paint.

But probably not right? Sure would suck to put every thing back together and have it spring a pin hole leak later on sometime.
