Silly cops LOL
I don't know about y'all but most Vic's around here either have the 6 or the gutless 8's even a halfway decent driver in our trucks could get away from one....it's the fact of the matter that they have radios.... Now the new chargers there starting to use around here wont have a problem keeping up
Considering even the V-6 version have more power, and a LOT less weight than we do......
I drove one of the new six cylinder chargers from here to chicago. Its actually a pretty nice car.....

The gutless 8s? Those 4.6Ls are only pushing 250HP at the crank and typically have 3.21 axles. My Durango with a 4.7L pushing 235hp at crank, 3.55:1 gears on 31s and about 3k pounds more weight can still get me from 0-60 pretty quickly. Those Crown Vics are better than most think.

Before I grenaded the engine in my Crown Vic, it was far from gutless. Also, they never came with V6's.
Man I got a nasty ticket that day if I recall...That dude was so pissed ff at me.
Driving back to Michigan from Cincinnati one sunday morning.... traffic was pretty light, so, I was 'cruising right along'.... in my heavily modified Trans-Am..... Coming over a hill, I could see about a half dozen state police cars on the shoulder.. so, I slowed to some semblance of the speed limit. As I went past, two of the cars pulled out behind me, and hit their lights... I figgered they got me doing 80 or so, and I could probably talk my way out of the ticket. (I had managed it before....) Pulled off the side of the road, and rolled down my window when the cop came up..... First words out of his mouth when he got there were: "Do you realize the AIRPLANE clocked you at 108 MPH?"...... Well, at that point, I figgered I just got a ticket.....
I had to drive back to go to court.... they weren't going to let me just mail in the fine. When it was my turn to go before the judge...... He looked at the ticket, and announced: "I want to see this man's driving record." At the time, I had a boatload of points on my license...... probably over 20.... (they suspend at 12 in michigan.... and I had gotten it back a few months previously.... yeah, I had a lead foot.) The judge suspended my license in Ohio for 90 days, and it was a 125 dollar fine. (which really surprised me... quite cheap.... of course, this was in 1991....) I went to pay the fine, and asked for my license back. (the cop had taken it.) They didn't want to give it to me. I pointed out to them that it was a Michigan License, and as Michigan and Ohio did NOT reciprocate, I could still drive in Michigan. They were still being reluctant until a lawyer standing behind me told them that I was correct, and they had to give it back.
I avoided Ohio for a couple months......

One night many, many moons ago I made a left turn against a red light at the end of a freeway off ramp, followed it up with an illegal u-turn after traffic cleared at the on-ramp on the opposite side of the overpass, and parked my Gold Wing at the curb. I got off and started jogging back to the off-ramp when I heard a voice behind me call out, "What the hell do you think you're doing?". I stopped and turned, and there was some clown doing a macho man strut coming at me. "Who the hell are you?", I asked. Mister Macho replied, "I'm an off-duty California Highway Patrolman, and I just watched you make two illegal turns. What's your problem?".
So I told him: "If you were all that observant you'd know that my problem was that white Lincoln Continental rear-ending that Volvo wagon that was right behind me and is now blocking the intersection. You want to come with me to check for injuries and render aid?".
Not the keenest of highly trained observers, that one. At least he didn't write me a ticket that I would have easily beaten.
