I once had the cops attempt to catch me in their old Fury.... At the time, I was driving an SD 455 Trans Am.... Needless to say, he did NOT catch me.

my dad also use to tell me stories about how dumb the cops use to be before they had there radios. my dad use to have a beat up piece of crap looking 66 dodge Monaco but it would sure move like a bat out of hell with the fairly modified 440 and 2.73 gears in a clutch pack posi rear end. speedo stopped at 150mph but the car would keep going faster. people that had nice cars that knew my dad would never race him because they would hate loosing to such an ugly car.

For a time there..... in a small city to the north of me, they had real issues with their cop cars....... It was pretty much a sure thing, that if you punched it, the COP CAR would break down.

Also, around here..... due to budget cuts, and rising costs, road patrol officers have been reduced in population by better than 50% in the last ten years. It IS possible to outrun the radio, simply because there ain't enough cops to cover the roads. If you have an off-road vehicle, they don't have a snowballs' chance in hades.

Yeah, it's pretty funny to outrun a police officer. Even more funny when you get home to a reception of law enforcement waiting to arrest you because the pursuing officer was able to record and/or radio your tag number to the dispatcher.

Bet you'll be laughing while eating a baloney sammich in the county lockup.

See, that's the funny thing about that... Yes, they might be able to prove that it was your Vehicle that was out there doing something silly, however, unless they have a pic of YOU driving it, they can't prove who was behind the wheel.

Aside from that.... It has been a LONG time since I felt any inkling of a need to run from the cops...... At this point in my life, I just stop, have a pleasant chat with them for a few, and they generally just let me go with a warning. I have been pulled over a number of times in the last several years, but, it's difficult to recall when the last time I actually got a ticket was...... better than six years methinks. (and I think that was a seatbelt ticket......)

Point taken. Then again, they could all give you a Rodney King style beatdown and you wouldn't be able to prove they did
