Just installed a cove on my Daytona. I used a Access Lorado. Fit go looks good & easy to put on. It is a roll up.. If you r looking for a tailgate lock look at the Popalock...

To answer the original question:
In my personal experience, adding a tonneau has saved me gas. I recently installed a cover on my own pickup after going coverless for a while. During the time without a cover, I averaged 13.3 mpg. Since installing it, my mileage has gone to between 14 and 15 mpg on average (jumping to 19 mpg fora while once, too, but that was with a 40+ mph tailwind).
If you want a scholarly study on what effects a tonneau cover can have on your pickup’s aerodynamics, here’s some information from a Western New England College study in 1997 (http://web.archive.org/web/20030414190338/http://mars.acnet.wnec.edu/~ehaffner/did.htm) The study found that adding a tonneau cover reduced a similar Dodge Ram’s coefficient of drag by close to 12 percent. The students estimated a 1 mpg gain from adding a cover to thisparticular truck (http://www2.sema.org/Main/SemaOrgHome.aspx?ID=52546).
Here's a different study conducted by SEMA in 2007 that found several kinds of tonneau covers can cut the coefficient of drag by 6 percent on different trucks: http://www.agricover.com/downloads/p...windtunnel.pdf
My company makes soft roll-up covers (http://www.agricover.com/access). If anyone has any more questions on our products, I’d be happy to help.
If you go with a soft roll-up cover -- no matter which manufacturer -- be sure it is tight wheninstalled. If you drive around with a loose cover, it will buffet in thewind and add drag, wasting gas. On top of that, a loose cover will suffer wear and tear and not last as long as you might want.

Also, to Randall:

Thank you for buying one of our covers. If there’s anything I can help you with, please let me know.

Will one of these covers work with a Back Rack?

I sure do hate shoveling snow out of the bed in the winter...

HAHA!

Just sucks when I wanna put stuff back there and the bed's covered in a foot of ice/snow.

Guess I'll just deal with it

Clipper77, do you mean a rack for ladders and such?

ACCESS covers leave the bedrails open for adding racks. We also make a rack, if you're in the market for one: http://www.agricover.com/access/adarac/

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Default Tonneau Cover

I have had min on for a few weeks. I can not tell yet if it helps on gas mileage. It does work in keeping things covered. It is a roll-up. Access( Lorado) Very nice to be a roll-up. It fits inside of the bed. Works great on mine because I have the BIG Daytona wing on the back of my truck...

We know customers that have installed our cover along with a BackRack. If you're interested in more information with photos showing this, give me a call and I'll email something to you. 877-473-7246. When the automated greeting answers, press 71.

That's a nice cover! I just got one myself - I used this guide to help make my decision. There are so many variations of these darn things! For future reference, this may help you guys down the road as well:
