is there some kind of number or something that i can look for on a dana 60 that will tell me for sure it is a 60?

Well, unless some custom work was done, your 1500 does not have a Dana 60.

Ram 1500s from 1994 to 2001 only have one set of axles, Dana 44 front, Chrysler 9.25 rear. Not possible to have anything different unless custom work was done.

Unless, of course, this is related to your Dana 60 axle thread, in which case you should have posted it in there rather than create a new thread.
