Default appliance shopping

So, last November my grandmother inherited my great uncles house. She is letting me and my mom live there because she already has a house. So we've been working on it. Already upgraded from a 100amp service to a 200amp. And just started pretty much rewiring the house. Remodeling bath and kitchen and adding a half bath. I'm starting to shop for appliances, any opinions. I've been leaning toward LG and samsung.
Actually, talking about the electrical, doing all the work, I go to a tech high school and I'm in electrical so we saved a LOT of money having the school do the work. I don't know how other states tech schools are but if you ever need anything done, check into it. You will save a lot of money.

Check around Amazon.com and www.epinions.com for reviews on appliances you may be considering. I have several published reviews on Amazon, the most recent of which I beat the holy hell out of the HTC Inspire Smart Phone (it's a farking POS).

i bought some whirlpool appliances a few years ago and they've been very good. i also got a sears refrigerator (made by whoever) that was on super-sale and its been good.

i think samsung and LG make the best tv's.

shop carefully. amazon and several other major internet sellers offer free shipping and no sales tax.

i have a LG tv, and a phillips blue-ray player, and couldnt be happier with those. i bought my mom a kenmore drier, about 4 years ago, and its been great. its all about what you think is a good brand. i love lg, and samsung products, so thats what i usually go with for tvs, cell phones, and other electronics.

now since you already upgraded to a 200 amp service...... get yourself a nice lift off craigslist, and poor a decent cement slab and mount it up! id kill to have a lift to throw my truck on anytime i need it. my driveway is a dirt driveway, and it sucks!

good luck on your searching for new stuff!

Vizio is one of the best on the market that consistently beats the higher priced Sony. I bought my Vizio 37" two years ago on Wal Mart's website (scored it on sale watching it go on/off/on again). Shipped FedEx Ground, too.

Also, Whirlpool washer/dryer and refrigerator. Was advised by an appliance repairman to avoid Samsung refrigerators as they barely last past the warranty.

I wish I could but my driveway is exactly the width of my truck and have about 1 1/2 feet to my house on one side and 6-10" to the property line. Maybe in the future I can figure out something behind the house but the shed/garage we have is in the way and too small for anything but a smart car.

Also I was thinking warrantys for them. What bestbuy want for a 2yr warranty for just the ref. squaretrade wants for all three products for 3 yr.

Never buy extended warranties, especially from Best Buy. Those are nothing but cash cows.

Watch Out For Best Buy's Extended Warranties

I was using bestbuy as an example, just because it was the same as squaretrade.

I ended up leaving a deposit today at PC richard and son on all three. For the simple fact bestbuy has a samsung ref normally $2599.99 on sale for 1889.99. And PC richard gave it to me for $1749.99. Also got a pretty good deal on the range and dishwasher based on what they normally sell for.
As far as warranty's PC richard gave me all three products 5 yr for $350.
I know extended warranties are stupid for applainces but I put down the deposit and my grandmother, my mom, and I are going out Friday and shopping around. And she can change anything, or buy everything somewhere else. I did it just to lock down the price for the refrigerator.
