can anyone confirm this 02 sensor?
Sorry to do this, but it seems the search function isn't working, but I can only imagine the results I'd get searching for "02 sensor", as it's mentioned probably a million times. I know I'm not supposed to buy bosch, but is BWD brand suggested? I see one on oreilly's website for 44.99, which isn't too bad. I'd buy the NGK one, as I think that was the one peeps were suggesting, but on their site, all I see for 'em is right bank/ left bank, which I don't understand. I just know I want the upstream one (before the cat). I haven't changed it since the plenum fix, and have a bit of cash to do it now.
The part # on oreilly's site is OS2652. If anyone wouldn't mind, taking a look at the link, and letting me know if that's the one I want, I'd appreciate it. If not, maybe a suggestion, for 1 I can get from the store, cause I really dont wanna pay shipping, or go to the stealership for one, after seeing their 102 dollar price tag on a IAC motor, when oreillys has one for 56.99 (also BWD brand). Is BWD worthwhile? appreciate any suggestions.

I'll try to chime in here. It was my understanding, which could be wrong, is that the CA emissions trucks had left and right banks. Federal does not. So what do you have? You can get down and look up in there.
You're the first that has mentioned BWD. I have no idea, sorry to say. I got mine via Rock Auto. They carry both NTK and Denso.
Lastly, I'd recommend also doing the downstream.
Hope that helps.

Manual or auto tranny, 1500,2500? (basic info that would be nice to have in your sig and profile) . Cali or federal emmision ? Kind of hard to help without all the required info.

Says it on the upper right hand corner of all of my posts....guess im confused. Were 5.2's available in the 2500's?? Anyways, it's a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2L v8 magnum engine, and a 5 speed manual tranny. Bought in nebraska, with federal emission requirements. Not california. The link I posted claimed it was for the upstream sensor. The one before the cat. I know I do not need a left or right bank 02 sensor. I need the one that's mounted 6 inches or so upstream of the cat. The only reason I asked was because I knew NGK was a suggested 02 sensor brand by peeps on the forum, but on the oreillys website, the NGK's they had listed did not list a "upstream" 02 sensor. Only the (left or right bank) california emissions ones, which I do not need. I'll check out rockauto, and see what I can find. I'll just stay away from the discouraged bosch 02's. BWD makes a tooooon of different sensors, so i'd imagine they probably know what they're doing.

Umm, the info in your profile is NOT enough. There is a difference for the o2 from manual to auto. for instance. And the 1500 or 2500 info would be nice for future questions. As far as "upstream" goes. That means pre cat . And if you only have one then it is considered the right side. Seems pretty clear to me which one you need.

z man speaks truth...
I'll add: the difference in left bank right bank is the length of the harness- nothing more.. one is 12" and the other is 18" on iirc, and on the downwind sensor.. i -think- the federal rig runs the 18" downwind..
bosch is the bad one.. there is either too much or too little latency (response time) on those, though some run them without issue.. it's a crap shoot.. Densco and NGK/NTK are the better choices.. there are few in-betweeners, that are most likely made by one of those three companies and off-branded.
don't eff with o2's. they are one of the most important sensors on our rigs- and contrary to popular opinion, they can't be 'simulated'.. simulating will trigger an open loop operation which hurts performance and economy.. the upwind is where the importance resides, but the downwind also play a role in trim, and shouldn't be ignored either. the role they play is fine tuning and checking- NOT -just- tattling on the cat..
