Carroll Shelby passed away today, he was 89. Its a sad day in the Ford community.

 

Yup.. he was a pioneer.. he toyed with a few mopars in the day, though.. shelby daytonas..

 

My dad had this Shelby at one point.




Interesting how he finally made his 200 MPH mustang, and immediately peaced out.

 

RIP.

I still don't like fords to this day, but that man did incredible things for the automotive industry. he made some pretty badass mustangs and paved the way for companies like saleen to take a factory car and rebuild it to have more *****, better handling, and better looks than the original car they started with.

 

a legend in automobile engineering.

On a side note, I am also a ford fan(old school). And I say that a Cobra is the most beautiful car ever built, bar none. I don't think even a chevy fan can argue with that. LOL

 

He made history and furthered muscle cars as much or more than anyone. He was a great guy - I met him 30+ years ago. RIP, Carrol!

 

i just thought i would point out he passed away on Thursday and not yesterday. he will definitively be missed. lot of interesting article have been written about him. did you know he use to be a chicken farmer for a bit?
