New brakes on finally, dont think I could have waited too much longer to do them.

Not sure when the front brakes where last done, its one if the things not in my records for the truck. There was a decent amount of pad left on the old ones, but they were squeeking alot, and looked glazed-with minor cracking once I got the pads off.

I went with Bendix rotors and Hawk HPS pads, so far everything feels great!

Old fluid from driver side before it started to bleed out clean:

Nice to be able to stop quietly and reliable again, have a long tow coming end of June(3k, biggest Ive towed), trying to get ready.

 

Brake fluid is definitly a neglected one. To the rotors on a 1500 just slide off, like a regular car?

 

Well, technically they should.... but, they like to rust in place, just like on a car... and sometimes need some convincing to come off.

 

Adjust your rear brakes also.

 

hes from vegas... he prob jus tapped them with a hammer and they came off, if he were in MI he would have made this thread on how to get them off not how they feel after he replaced them

i live in NH, and have had my rotors off several times, and i have never had to convince them to come off..... now my rims, thats a totally different story!

speaking of changing the pads and rotors... i NEED to do that very soon! my local advance is having a special thru the month of may. pads and rotors 79.99 depending on vehicle type....
