I got to take the truck for a short drive to test it. I was taking it real easy since the silicone sealant i used hasnt completley cured. No leaks and happy with the fan so far. Ive got it wired to the battery though. Im going tomorrow to get a relay then I need to find what ignition source to tap into. Anyone have some suggestions?

Tap the power side of realy to the power input post on PDC. Then there is a small red wire from the firewall to the PDC that is only hot when the key is on. You can take that to the high side of control side of relay.

When you look at realy it should be marked with number like 85, 87, etc. Should also have a diagram for wiring. I cannot recall from memory though. If you have question I can look at package in garage. I keep several of those on hand all the time and the ones I have are marked.

Yes, you still need the fuse. The relay only turns circuit on and ofrf. Fuse protects components of circuit including wire.

If you go HERE, 2X1972 posted his wring diagram. Terminals on relay are marked there also.

Ok i got my relay and fuse holder. Im pretty sure i got it figured out. But do i need to hook up a neg to the relay? Im thinking that its not necesary since its just controlling the pos. circuit.

this is how my fan and shroud ended up.

I recessed it in about 3" more than i had it before and it seems to be working great. temps havent gone over 190 yet. I will be towing the trailer with 4k on it tomorrow so thatll be a good test

Im going to get some aluminum and make me a shroud from scratch one weekend soon. My wife has been a welder for 12+ years so i will be relying on here expertise and teachings to make me a new shroud. I already have a design laid out that will allow maximum cooling efficiency and still allow me to mount the factory coolant and washer tanks.

Yes, you still need the negative (or ground). Without the ground, when you apply power to 85, nothing will happen as it needs a complete circuit. 85 is the one that needs to go to the hot from ignition switch.

87 goes to fan, and 30 goes to the fused power.
