Welp got's an update, looks like my hand may be forced to move sooner...

Was at work today, got an email from the boss asking if I was working my schedule, which I was, and she said "I'll see you shortly". I was working in Waycross, Ga and her office/house is in Jacksonville, Fl so it took her about 90 minutes to ride up.

Anyway, day went good, she bought lunch (it's customary when the boss or trainer show's up they buy lunch), then came the bombshell. My territory is being cut to part time, which would leave me with 3 stores and roughly 25 hours every other week... Which I can't live on...

She said there was another position open on the Mars Candy C Team (the convenient store team). It's full time and over 100 store's that I'd go in, spend 40 minutes in some 20 minutes in other's and I'd work about 10 stores a day. Thing is I really don't wanna work convenient stores and the wear of tear on the Ram or Van would be crazy...

The Albany area alone has 80 stores....

Anyway, the wife's ready to just rent a U-Haul Trailer and pack what we can and leave what won't fit at her mom's and haul *** Friday after next...

I'm thinking about it.....

Sorry to hear about your job, man that sucks. That seems like a drastic cut?

What your wife has suggested seems like she is ready... If you can swing it, do it man! What do you have to lose? You can find a job and work more hours than that in VA!

^^ Yea with the original plan to move at income tax time, which also happens to be winter, even though last year was rather mild for them, I think it may be a blessing in disguise that things have happened this way..

And Nereaga, it's a drastic cut alright, but that's the norm for part time hours, but what really sucks about part time is there are NO benefits, no paid day's off, work any/all holiday's on your regular work day...

2 kids in school but they're out for the summer, this would be the best time to move.

Nothing else....

I know, time to move

I see that you can read the writing on the wall. The next step is, do what it says.... Moving NOW, when it's nice out, is MUCH more pleasant than moving in the middle of winter...... or even late winter.... and you just KNOW that because last year was so mild, this year we are going to take it up the keester.

The wife has a great idea. So far as I am concerned, at this point, for you, there is no better time than the present.

Go For It.

That bites. Hope you can scrounge up a couple of good job prospects when you get there. One tip - be persistent.
