Main, rod, or cam bearings or oil pump. Should have at minimum 10 psi per 1000 rpm

Oil pressure issues are predominantyly those mentioned. I would put a mechanical gauge on it where I could see it and drive to get a more accurate measure of waht is going on. If it was really dropiing, it is either worn bearings that allow oil to flow too freely, or blockage in screen on pump, or failing pump.

How many miles on truck?

assuming you have a lot of miles and don't want to spend a bundle on a rebuild, just
replace the oil pump with a high volume melling pump. it'll buy you another boatload of miles out of the truck.

Mine did the same thing. I changed the switch and cleaned the screen, but still had low pressure. I installed a HV pump and voila! I got oil pressure.

It's about $100 at NAPA, but I payed around $200 to have it installed because I was too big of a chicken to change it myself.

Lite comes on at like 10 pounds, or less....... maybe 7. That's really too low. If you have verified that is actually what is happening with a mechanical gauge...... time to start thinkin' about a fix.

We had another member replace rods/main bearings, and it didn't appear to help. I am REAL curious where the pressure is going.
