I have a 99 2nd Gen ram 1500 w/ a 3.9L v6. I am curious to know if it is possible to replace the motor with a 96 2nd Gen Dakota 3.9L v6. I am asking because I have found one for a steal, and need to replace the blown motor in my ram. Any and all advice welcome. Thank you

 

Use your intake, and sensors, and it should drop right in. (don't forget to fix the plenum while the intake is off.)

 

AND.....go to the FAQ/DIY section and download the service manual and the parts manual.

 

Thank you guys for everything, I plan on getting the motor tomorrow. I will likely be posting more questions on here during the process of swapping the motors.
