what is the thing called and how do you remove the thing that holds the lights and direction your going, etc. i have to replace one of the doors.

and, my direction thing(dont no what to call it) always says im going either N or NW. and obviously im not last time i checked. whats up with that?

 

Overhead console.

Two screws up by the windshield, pull down slightly, and slide it rearward. Should come down. (disconnect batter before playing with it.....)

 

I think you can replace the doors without removing it. But you may still have to with the compass problem...

No screws on the ones I've pulled. Of course they were basic ones with map lights , sunglass, and garage door remote bins. Open the garage door remote bin/holder, and you'll see 2 clips you need to press. Press them and pull the front of the console down a little, once they are free, push the whole unit toward the rear of the truck.
