+1 on the mess! And make sure you top of the oil when you finish....and don't worry, the oil will burn off the exh manifolds!

If you have an old pair of valve covers, cut the tops out... bolt them on in place of what's on there now.

This is a very clever idea. If you dont have any spares then just use a bunch of rags and please wear safety glasses. I got some hot oil in my eye when i did it and it burned like hell.

How come in the video no oil is flying anywhere ?

I just wanna see if my rocker arm is lose and inspect the springs . It may e time to just do new heads with spring and pushrods . The rocker arms should still be fine

The oil holes are right above the pushrods, and there is a little "lip" over top of the hole... keeps oil from spraying straight up, and in the rocker where it can do some good.

While there is some oil flow in the vid, sure doesn't seem like much........ not what I am used to seeing in any event.....

My 68 Stang has solid lifters , I need to adjust them all the time. PITA But some one used to make clips (forget what they are called) to put on the rockers so the oil doesn't go everywhere.

So the stuck lifter noise I been hearing for over a year turned out to be a full out blown exhaust leak today , somewhere on the y pipe .

I'm worried because everything is so rusted from longtubes to the y pipe I hope they can weld up a new pipe

Reminds me of my cutout days hehe
