99 Cummins 33" tires, 3.55 gears all interstate 17.4 mpg (half this run on fresh fuel and air filters). The 97 3/4 ton 360 gas, 33" tires 3.55 gears 10.8 mpg all town. K.

Shouldn't you be getting better mileage on the interstate?

Well, I get better no load mpg's in the same truck on summer fuel, interstate only. I'm guessing winter fuel affects it somewhat. K

As of a few days ago, got just under 400KM(250 miles) on 89.9L(23.5ish gallons) So about 10.4MPG in town. I'm really hoping that it's the winter blend fuel, otherwise I'll sell it in the next few months after my move, or park it and get a Dakota or Ranger

Dieselweasle, thought I'd practice Canadian............my calculator of 400 km puts you at 248.5 miles (KM = .621371192 per mile) @ 248.5 miles with 89.9 liters = 23 US gallons.
This puts you at 10.8 miles per gallon (here in your town).

I'd say it's a keeper (for a gasser). I'd get a 318 Dak over a Ranger though (4.10 gears too).

Diesels running $4.00 per gallon hear in the US (nothing to brag about there). Best of luck with your move. K.

I'm getting into the trades, so a better job= better money, so I may make it into a toy and find another older Ford with the 300 6 in it and have that as my DD. Worst MPG I've ever had in that was 16 in town. I was expecting to take a hit with the gas mileage with this truck, but not this bad. Plenums good and I do need to change the plugs, that hopefully will help

You're pretty much getting the average mpg for in town unfortunately.

Those old Ford straight 6s were awesome. Can't blame ya.

Awesome, and pretty much indestructible. Friend of mine had one in his work truck, over 300K miles, and all he ever did to it was maintenance. The frame rusted out and broke, but the engine still ran great. I think he dropped it into another truck, and drove that one for another couple years as well.

We have one at work(landscaping). Its not the torque monster that a 360 is. But it keeps going and going. 2 cylinders, 5 cylinders, it doesnt care lol it just keeps chugging along. Combined with that granny gear trans it gets the job done. And it gets a lot better mpg. Especially after my boss finally had some maintenance done, hes a tightwad on that kinda thing
