Gotta factor in the tail wind! You'll never convince anyone that you made a trip that long in Wyoming without encountering wind.
Haha alright valid point. But on the same trip back with a headwind, still got 13.7. But you're right, there was definitely a breeze behind me on the way there, always forget about that as it's kind of the norm around here
When I was in Montana...... We stopped for gas at some hole-in-the-wall place.... and while we were there, I commented that it was pretty breezy...... The guy runnin' the show there looked at me, and smiled. He told me the way they measure wind in Montana is hook a fence post to a tree using a log chain...... if the fence post is laying on the ground, it's "calm". If the fence post is standing straight out on the chain, its "breezy". if the fence post is slapping around at the end of the chain, and snapping links, THEN the wind is blowing.
Just checked my mpg for the first time since I got my truck.. 12.5 ..ouch haha
Would not having my speedometer re calibrated affect my calculations? According to my gps my speedo is about 3-4 mph off.
Yes, it can throw it off. I only get around 12-13 uncorrected too.
If you take your MPG, divide it by the stock tire size in inches, then multiply that number times your new tire size in inches, you'll get your corrected MPG.
