not a huge need for an intercooler on low boost applications. water meth will definitely cool your intake down and gain you some power while dropping your EGT's a bit.

Jig, you just like to go around posting pictures and saying "My truck is awesome and yours all suck," except you like to use more words.

I'm back in WA. When do I get my ride?

haha when you lure me out grilling burgers and having cold beer handy

I gotta fix the fuel pressure gauge on her. line going from the chemical isolator to the gauge cracked and leaked the anti-freeze out. gotta eliminate the bad spot in the line re-bleed it, and hook it back up so I actually know how much fuel pressure that thing is seeing. scary not having that gauge...its the most important one on the truck lol

eventually I need to put the new power steering pump in it.

Got the K&N today. I can't say it has more power, but it definitely is more responsive. There was always a slight hesitation on acceleration, now it snaps up the RPM's instantly. I'm guessing it can suck the air faster, so it doesn't need to "catch its breath" when the fuel is gushing in. It is certainly much more crisp acceleration, if not more powerful. $15.56 for a brand new K&N. That was a win.

Honestly, i dont even think the volant "CAI" system is all that great. when you think about it, by the time your "cold air" gets to where it needs to be burned anyway, its already been heated.

the idea is to stuff the engine with more dense air..best ideas are FUNCTIONAL ram air hoods... seal up your airbox to the hood scoop. works much better!

ideally a functional scoop is the best option, but thats about the only way its gonna happen unless you wanna turbo/supercharge for power gains.

I've seen some nice setups for carbs with a huge scoop and a sheet of aluminum sealing up the carb to the hood scoop.

I know they make the functional ram air scoops for chebbys, never checked if they did for dodge.

old man had one on his 03 duramax.

just looked and they do got them for the v8 2nd gens.
