Currently a "farmer"
I just do odd job things at a farm.

Dream job would be a lead guitarist, preferably in the top 10 guitarists of all time list. But more realistically, I would like to own my own shop too and do performance diesel work...strictly working on cummins trucks of course, lol

I'm going for an associates in diesel tech at the University of Northwestern Ohio. I start in October. So that's the start to my dream job.

It gets worse. Most quality shops require that you get re-certified every 5 yrs.All thing concidered now that every mgf.has so much computer directed devices on there cars, you almost need a degree in computer science to work on them.Old days it was a sun diaognostic tool .OBD 1-2-3 and now, plug in a laptop or too factory PDF's on the desktop.I started with Mopar, still love to work on them.Got my Master Tech in 8 fields, specialized in heavy builds to include Viper. Now working at Mercedez Benz.Do well and learn everyday it pay's off in the long run including upper management.Gray contracts with Matco,Snap-On for tools, like a charge card to up-grade your specility tools that will be needed and tool cages on wheels.I've re-certified 3 times now and learn lots of tricks on the course of this adventure. And stay groomed and as clean as possible,it makes a difference in your customer base(repeat customers that requist you) to service there ride.Every shop has a wall of honor that displays ASE certifications get yours posted.Every class that you can get take.ASE in Transmission is a money maker for a good tech, now with the new 6 and 8speed autos.**** test are random in the good shops, you never know when your surprised.Specialize inat least 2 disilipines.Didn't mean to rant but don't know if anyone gave you any "ins".Hope this helps with this litlle bit of info...

I will be taking every course and class that they will allow me to, as they are paying for all of it. Cool thing about working at the dealer is they have all the nice computers and diagnostic tools for us to us, most of it is wireless now as well. I cant wait to get in there and start turnin wrenches again. Ive got to dig out my old Mac and snapon boxes and organize my tools this weekend, will prolly take 8 hrs to do so as my tools are scattered between my 3 current shops and 10 toolboxes lol.

I'm a self employed programmer, doing mostly internet/web and system administration software with some desktop applications and middleware thrown in for good measure.

I haven't had a haircut in this century and my work week is three and a half ten hour days. This looks a lot like my dream job, but I still ain't decided what I want to be if I'm ever forced to grow up.
