I would like to know if my well maintained 94 Dodge Ram 1500 V6 auto 42 RH trans would pull a lightly loaded (7-800 lb.) UHAUL 6x12 Trailer. I am under the impression that the 42 RH is not a durable transmission. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks
My truck had 220k when i hauled a 6x12 from mass to maine 260 miles...and trailer was packed full as well as my bed...keep od off and your good...your truck would be able to pull more than that anyways....ive seen my old boss with his 5.2 1500 haul a trailer that had a jacoozi (sp)....trailer he hauled was 5000lbs alone...and he didnt have the best tranny...his tranny would slam 3rd gear every time....hauled the trailer 100 miles to get jacoozi and 100 miles back with jacoozi that added roughly 1200 lbs he said....aside from shifting at high rpms it made it....still has same tranny and this was a year and a half ago...
Thought id share that to put you at ease a little...your truck should pull it no problem
