Hub problems for thoes of you with lifted 2001 1500's i need help!!
I have a 2001 1500 4x4 and its getting to be pretty expensive because my hubs keep snapping in half. Im thinking that my rims have something to do with this with a offset of 20mm. is it possible that all the weight of the truck on the outside of my rim pulling it away from the truck and snapping the hub?
has anyone else had this problem?? what did you do to fix it ? please help, i cant be spending $180 every 2 weeks. and if you have any thoughts of what could be causing it please don't be afraid to give me an idea.

i have 35 12.50's on there i dont have a picture right now but i will get one so you can see it soon. i have never heard of an offset like that. A good offset for rims is 0mm, meaning where the hub bolts up onto the wheels is in the center of the rims from the inside lip to the outside lip. are you sure we are talking about the same thing? Because 139.7mm is the bolt pattern for our trucks. 5X5 or 5X139.7 , no disrespect.
Do you have a lift on yours?

By offset I think from the inside edge of the rim to the spot on the rim that contacts the hub. Thinking about it like you're saying then I would assume that my offset is 1.5" since my rims are 8" wide.
35" tires are hard on a Dana 44s hubs but they should last much longer than two weeks if you're not jumping the truck or doing 100mph down some train tracks.
Are your ball joints in good shape?

that could be the problem its as tight as i could get it with using a impact and a socket wrench. but its on there pretty good.
i think it has something to do with my rims, where they connects to the hub is too far to the outside lip so all the weight is pulling the wheel downward pulling the hub apart. if that makes sense
i think im going to have to get a new set of rims with a 0mm offset or less

I could see too tight squeezing the hub in such a way that it has some resistance (meaning it will get hot, burn up the grease then seize up). you need to use a torque wrench and tighten it to 175 ft-lbs. An impact can hammer it way past that.
Jack up the offending wheel and spin it to see if it spins easily and silently.
