2nd Gen Ram Picture thread!!! Pic whore's unite.
The fact that he is selling the Jeep trucks has no bearing in this thread. Go back and read how this all got started.
Okie was putting his 2nd Gen out to pasture and someone asked what other types of rigs were out to pasture there also. Well then Ham Bone said give me the Jeep truck and being the Jeep nut that I am I chimed in too. We asked for the pictures not because he was selling the trucks but because we wanted to see the Jeep truck. So while talking about his V-10 truck the OP also mentioned that he was selling the Jeep trucks. No where in any of that did he try to sell either of us the trucks.
I don't really care what Brand of rig you post here. If you have a cool looking VW powered trike with a Chevy body and Toyota hood post it up.

Simple 2nd Gen Ram Picture thread!!! not heep, not fords, not gm's 2ND GEN RAMS
Maybe the 2nd gen Dodge area should change it's name to all brands welcome. Close the tech area and just leave up a knowledge base for people to look through. If I want to look at any other brand I will go to that brands forum.

Guys. Leave it alone. This is a PIC thread. There are pics in here of all sorts of stuff, some of which don't even include a truck of ANY description. PICS are PICS. The argument ends NOW.
Well if this thread can be more than RAM pics...
Y'all are gonna hate me for this one. Lol.
1989 Ford F350 XLT Lariat. 326,000 miles as of today. Original 7.5L High-Output engine. Original automatic transmission (torque converter and a sensor and a few seals were replaced but otherwise the tranny hasn't been rebuilt or anything). For 1989, it was loaded to the max. If you could get it, it probably has it. Chrome package, factory running boards and bedrails, cruise, factory A/C, etc.
When we got it:

The day I found all four rear tires flat, and my air compressor quite LOL

Towing 18,000 pounds.

Got new rear tires, otherwise hadn't cleaned it up.

After a whole day of polishing it and waxing it, here's how it looks.

The interior cleaned up very nicely as well. No cracks anywhere on the dash. Factory radio/tape player and it works flawlessly.

Behind the rear seat has storage, look how clean and shiny that is.

The original rear seat. Previous owners literally never used it. It shined up beautifully and is very springy and comfortable. Lol! I replaced the front seat, which wasn't original anyways, with a bench seat from a grey interior Ford. Blue interiors are more rare than others, and grey is the closest match. I spent hours trying to find a blue seat but couldn't so I got the closest I could. While it isn't all shiny like the rear it is still springy and is comfortable.

Sorry for some of these pics being sort of ****ty, didn't have as good of a camera on my cell phone back then...

Rear seat and rear carpet again.

Front seat

The only stains on the carpet anywhere, and I bet some shampoo would work them out nicely.

They always kept mats in, so the carpet stayed nice.

Had to re-attach the decals on both sides, but it turned out nicely.

This picture is its last heavy load it will tow until it gets rebuilt. Gross combined weight is 24,000lbs. That picture shows the results of everything done to it so far. All six new tires, rebuilt rear axle and rear suspension, new wide area mirrors on the tow mirrors, etc. Rear suspension has a one inch lift to allow it to sit and handle better with heavy loads. All tires are larger than factory spec.

The handling is excellent and the ride is very smooth. Not bashing on Rams, but neither our 2nd gen or our 3rd gen ride half as smooth as this truck, but it's just different designs, the Ford is designed as a highway hauler, not an off-road capable truck. Nothing wrong either way. You won't feel the trailer at all in the Ford, won't feel bumps, or the trailer pushing you when you stop. It also handles excellent around curves and in wind (no sway), that trailer load was towed at 70MPH most of the way. The downside is that I got 4.1MPG. Lol.
I've spent so many miles on the road in the Ford, slept in the cab among all the other semis in WalMart, driven all hours of the day, towed all sorts of trailers with it. It has never left me stranded on the side of the road. Only break downs that have happened were off road. Lol.
And then some pics of a severe-duty water pump. This is a OEM Ford/Motorcraft NOS water pump, not rebuilt, it was brand new. One of the best decisions we ever made in buying OEM parts and one of the best upgrades we did. This pump can move nearly twice as much coolant as the standard duty pump. It weighs over 15 pounds, as it is solid cast iron.

A far from incomplete list of everything done to this truck...
- New 4 tube aluminum radiator
- New severe duty water pump
- Flex fan conversion (solved tranny overheating problems)
- New battery and battery cables
- New wipers and wiper motor
- New alternator
- New radiator and trans cooler line rubber hoses, tstat, fan belt
- New accessory belt (yup it has two belts in there)
- 100% rebuilt rear axle, done by me. Looks and works brand new. Coated the exterior in bed liner to protect the axle from chips and spills. Works like a charm. The rebuilt axle has a 4.10 axle ratio, to replace the previous axle's 4.56 ratio.
- All new rear brake components, including lines and parking brake cables, 3.5" wide shoes are terribly expensive lol.
- All new rear suspension components, including mounting hardware. Exception to this were the springs, which I deemed okay. Shocks, spring centering bolts, u-bolts, sway bar links, etc. were all replaced. I added a one inch spring block to the rear to lift it one inch. All other factory parts were used, i.e. I did not have to use different shocks and such.
- Replaced the front seat
- Upgraded sensors on the transmission and replaced certain seals
- Replaced window motors
- All new tires
- One new rim
- Full size spare tire
- Ignition tune up
- New catalytic converter, 3 inch exhaust, muffler, and 5 inch stainless steel exhaust tip. No droning in the cab and quiet in the cab, but flows excellent and has a nice growl to it outside of the cab
- Too much more that I can't list here.
As I said, been retired from towing large loads. Engine comp test revealed several cylinders reading 105 wet and 175 dry and it's blowing lots (quarts) of oil out the breather. Tranny is still working well.
Next up later, loads of scenery pics I've taken and pics of the dash teardown on a 2003 Grand Caravan. Howzabout it...

Merc,
Had some idiot pull up behind me the other night with a light bar on his bumper like yours but he had it on and it was not adjusted to shine down. This was out on the freeway and I had to slowdown and let him get in front of me that thing was so bright.
I was really wishing I had some LARGE backup lights on the truck right then.
