you can tell he has a 8ft bed because it has a pocket in the middle of the box. short boxes only has pockets in the corners.

You can tell it has an 8 foot bed since that is all the D200's had.
The stake pocket is also an indicator. What do you mean by exhaust-ful thoughts? Re-doing the exhaust? Yeah, I've thought about it, it's on the list. The oh-so-long list.

Anyway, thanks. I think after bodywork and paint it won't look too bad. Might actually be able to take it over to a car show near my house...

I know the Crew Cabs had 6.5 ft beds.
Care to elaborate?

I am not an expert in bed lengths. I had a 72 and a 78 D200. Both had 8' beds. From what I've seen and so can't say with authority is that the crew cabs are the only D200's I've seen that had 6.5' fleetside beds, except the stepside D200. Again, that is in my personal observations.

You could get club and crew 3/4 tons with 6 foot beds, just not reg cabs. In the 60's there were a few 3/4 ton reg cab short beds made, but not with the '72+ bodystyle.

Hmm, I had been thinking they weren't available with the Club Cab. My mistake. I knew the Crew Cabs had them. Where did you get your info from? I can't find anything for these trucks.

Seen a few of them on craigslist, and my dad has a "truck book" that lists all kinds of info about trucks from the early 1900's through whenever it was printed (probably sometime in the '90s). It has the number of trucks built each year with each configuration etc.

Dodge wasn't popular down here until the 90's, so nothing that old down here. What is the name of this "truck book"? I would like more information on this kind of crap.

Can't remember. I'll look later when I'm home. I'm at mom's right now.
