U-Haul is teh evil. Their business practices suck, their maintenance sucks, their vehicles suck because the maintenance sucks. There's even a web site dedicated to how badly and in what ways U-Haul Sucks.

Very limited choices in the podunk town I live in......And it won't all fit in the Ram.

I will never let U Haul add their wiring adapter **** on any of my vehicles. They jacked it up twice.

make sure you inspect the trailer good before you even hook onto it. my mom went to rent one to move my snowmobile and the u-haul place was planing on giving us a trailer with a flat tire. it was also very scary hauling the trailer when it was empty.

The u-haul place in Kansas we used gave us a decent trailer, no issues with it I could see. Made the 500mi trek with two air hockey tables just fine.

Largest truck is 26'. As you all know I've had 2 recent experiences with uHaul, and they went perfectly. Truck (20') was great, and trailer (6'x12') was great too.

Of course that doesn't mean your experience will be the same, just food for thought.

Have a safe trip.

I'll drive a long way to get a Penske. It's a hundred miles from here to the nearest Penske outfit, but I count it as worth it. Their one-ways come with unlimited mileage anyway. The last time I rented from them (from Las Vegas to here) they were actually cheaper than U-Crawl.

Much agree with your statement! Penske is the way to go if possible!

Whenever we had to use a truck for business purposes we used a 26' Ryder diesel with a tommy lift. Life was easy. Til we had to fill up.

AFAIK Ryder doesn't do residential move rentals any more. I heard, don't know how true it is, that they sold that division to Penske.
