I really think I am going to love it there. Except for the animals - andtler rattling and elk, it is very quiet. And the porch wrapping around the front, side, and part of the back makes a nice place to smoke a Cohiba and enjoy a single malt!

When should I be there?

I finally tried some of the Cuban Rum I've been talking about so much, it's really good, rather smooth, but potent.

Hmmm..... Party (moving type) next Saturday! And i personally am familiar with about half a dozen Cuban Rums.....Just hard to get them here (legally...). Had dinner at a Cuban Restaurant Thursday evening - complete with Rum and Cigars. i had completely forgotted the ecclectic restaurants and shops on South Congress!

So last weekend I made a quick trip back to Eastland and loaded up the VW and a bed full of tools. I think I only have 3 trips left to make (wish I had a 3 car hauler and a truck to pull it).

Got internet installed at the house today, sat TV and land line last Friday. Worked from home today! I think it is Single Malt time!

Most would argue for a Cummins but a good ole V10 would pull that easy, mileage would suck but who cares.

Were you able to get DSL? Hooray single malt!

No DSL. Too far from anywhere. Wireless from antenna on water tank about /4 mile away. Company called Sky Beam. Took them about an hour to install this morning. Sat out on porch with computer and coffee this morning watching the stags running around the pasture. Actually got some work done - without driving in Austin traffic!

So one of the best things about moving to this area.....I am only about 30 miles from two of my grandkids! Today is Chisam's 10th birthday. I drove over 700 miles ten years ago today to be there when he was born! It is going to be so good being this close to them (so I can spoil the heck out of them!)

Like a HAWK!

Geographically, I am very close to two of the eleven.....and about 4 hours closer to six of them! These two were my first.
