Default Driver's A-Pillar Grab Handle

Just did this quick little mod and wondering who else has done it. I still can't believe Chrysler threw a grab handle (AND a holy **** handle) on the passenger side (and only on a 4x4) and left the drivers side bare.

This is easily the most useful and helpful mod I've done as I was sick and tired of doing the 'ol C-clamp hand grab on the pillar to get in to the damn thing.

Total cost was less than $10 from start to finish and well worth it.

I was going to make a DIY but seems I am not allowed to post in that forum.

Do your DIY in this thread and ask for it to be moved to the DIY section. The reason why no threads can be started is because guys across the forum were cluttering up the section with both tech and off-topic posts which lead to complaints about not being able to find DIYs quickly.

BTW, even though Chrysler put grab handles in the 3rd Gens, they ain't worth a flip. Everybody snaps it off the first time they need to grab it, LOL...

Maybe for fat asses.

I use the one in my dad's truck all the time, works fine. I had to clean it the other day, in fact, since I use it so much.

Ok, I'll give in to the fact that when I broke mine I was around 290 lbs and I did lean back to talk to someone as I got in my truck, so I had a lot of my weight pulling on it.
Replaced it with an SRT with the gauge pod and installed a tranny temp gauge. Also replaced the CHEAP plastic mounting hardware with parts I fabb'd out of aluminum (after getting the idea from a place that sells this replacement hardware).

What I won't give in is the fact that my passenger pillar was yanked off by a buddy's girlfriend who is about 5'3" and no more'n 95 lbs, sack and all.

Seriously, someone posts up about breaking their's in the 3rd Gen section damn near weekly...

Actually, Hammer went from about 300 lbs. down to about 230 lbs. last year, but has been a bad boy and is back up to about 250 lbs. Need to do something about that fast before the holidays get me...
