Default BAD cl experience. SOOOO PISSED!

well i drove to bedford, nh tonight(50 miles one way) to buy a set of mopar running boards for my truck. they guy was asking 100 for them. didnt say firm, nor did he say obo. needless to say i cam home with nothing. he wouldnt budge from 100 bucks. i even offered him 80 bucks. wouldnt take it. he was a complete douche about it. telling me i should have asked him through email about the price. last time i checked thats not a smart way to do things.

heres the link http://nh.craigslist.org/pts/3347224462.html

this will probly be the last time i try to get ANYTHING on craigs list.

i am SOOOOOOOOO pissed off right now!!!

oh, and they didnt come with ANY mounting brackets, or bolts, and 3 out of 4 of the end caps were missing. gaaaahhhh im so pissed. ive been looking for these same steps for 2 years, finally found them, and the kid is a total d-bag about the price!

Alot of stuff like that on craigslist... Either they want to much.. Offer to little.... Or wont budge off a price... Kinda hard to sort out the ones who are good and those that are a pain to try and deal with

at first i low balled him cause it was missing everything(even though i still have the mounting hardware on my truck from when i had them) and offered him 50. when he said no i went to 75, then 80.

all he saud was you should have emailed me a price and i would have thought about it.

he didnt seem to understand what bartering was. typical CL douche baggery....

No offense, but hes under no obligation to barter with you.

I'm kind of bad about not negotiating when selling. I usually don't come off a price if I think it's fair for what I paid unless I just really want to get rid of it.

well if hes under no obligation to barter than he should have put firm after his price!

the steps are 10+ years old, and came with nothing. you can buy brand new running boards for not much more than what he was asking!

his came on his truck, came with no hardware. im the same way. if the price is fair i put firm in the post after the price.

but the steps were used, and again came with ZERO mounting hardware. i would have gotten out lucky because i have all the mounting hardware already, but i sold my old steps for 65 bucks. that was 2 years ago too. kid was younger than me, and his nose was a little TOO high in the air if you ask me.

just a typical rich kid thinking he can screw everyone over. just ranting cause im pissed.

and im pissed because of the way he acted about the whole situation, and because i drove 100 miles total trip for nothing.

I hear what your saying. I agree the kid was probably a douche. I didn't mean it the way it sounded when I wrote my post. I just meant that you gotta go into these things expecting the worst. If you don't, you'll go bald and have a heart attack at 35! :P

i got to say trying to negotiate a bit through email is always a good idea because if it is not as described you could try negotiating even more when you show up and find out even more stuff is missing like the end cap. i would have to say if the end caps were missing then it is not "Luke new".
